Maintain and display your scale models

How do you care for and display your model collection?
We've all asked ourselves the question: what can I do to prevent damage to my models, or where can I display them to preserve their longevity ?
Here are two tips to help you care for and display your model collection.
How do I look after my scale model ?
To clean your miniature, you can use a soft, non-abrasive microfibre cloth to prevent scratches and remove dust when dry. You can use a damp cloth to remove stains or other marks, but make sure you wring it out well. Finally, you can use a fine, soft brush to get at the finer details (including the inside, for those with openings).
It can happen that you drop your model, or that a pane of glass comes loose. Make sure you use a glue that is suitable for the material you are working with. There are also special glues for windows.
How and where should I display my model collection?
To preserve their durability, avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, especially resin scale models.
To admire your collection, a nice glass shelf is perfect and practical to reduce dust. Of course, there are other places where you can display your model collection with pride, such as wall shelves or cupboards.
If you decide to store them in a box or similar, make sure you do not stack your miniatures on top of each other to protect them from scratches or other damage.
